The Retired Athlete

Finally! It’s Friday! The last two days have been absolutely insane for me but I only have a half day of work standing between me, NYC, and a rest day from running. I am taking full of advantage of a no run day this weekend after my very difficult 6.5 mile longer run of the week this morning. Humidity+not enough sleep+working too much=tired Candice. I certainly felt it this morning. Anyway, onto my favorite post of the week! Here are the three things I am really loving this week:

Sunrises

I often run along the Charles River in Boston and I absolutely love running over the Longfellow and Mass Ave bridges. I’m a very happy girl when I run over both of the bridge in one run! The views of the city are amazing, especially as the sun is coming up. The Boston skyline and the gorgeous colors are an unreal way to start my day.

Sparkly headbands

Another “small” obsession of mine, besides neon, is anything sparkly. I wear a sparkly headband literally every single time I run. I bought my no slip headbands off of Etsy, for super cheap. I know brands like Sparkly Soul sell them but I got them from Creative Activity for $4 each instead of $15. They are the almost exactly the same thing. Think about it: I got 4 headbands for about the same price as one Sparkly Soul headband, plus the shipping was fast. If you haven’t checked out Creative Activity’s page on Etsy yet, I suggest you do. Or could you keep paying almost 4 times as much. Up to you.

Unique Shirts

I haven’t posted anything about Lululemon in a while so I decided I should include it this week. Lululemon has a top currently on their website called the Unity Pullover and I’m in love. The drape-y back is different and really cute. It’s a wee bit expensive, but the pullover looks so cuddly and snuggly and all that good stuff. Please note my birthday is in two weeks. I accept all forms of Lululemon.
